HOW TO BOOK A WHITEWATER KAYAKING TRIP TO ECUADOR AND WHAT TO EXPECT :

• All you need to do is to book your airfare to UIO Quito international airport and is all kayaking from there. We got the rest

• Plan your dates or check our schedule to book a trip (7 days-6 nights) with us, choose the dates you like best.

• We will pick you up upon arrival to UIO international airport near Quito or from your hotel of choice near UIO airport IF LATE ARRIVAL.

• You worry about nothing but your boof stroke and your choice for dinner. You’ll be able to check out and explore the culture and local restaurants at night if not served at lodge .

• All your logistics are arranged to be perfect, enjoy comfortable accommodations in awesome jungle lodges and delight yourself with the best gastronomy of Ecuador.

• We’ll find you the best whitewater for the week, targeting the classic rivers of Ecuador. Let us show you the magic of our country.

• back to the airport 7 days later well paddled, well fed and very well travelled. Call that a Session .

The general format of a week with us includes transfers from and to the airport where we pick you up on day 1. We need to decide itinerary based on levels, trying to split time between Baeza and Tena making sure to minimize traveling times and maximizing your paddling , cultural experience and making the most of your time even if it is on the hammock. We’ll be really looking for the best levels for the team. All logistics are taken care off but cocktails, wine and beers are on each person. At night we will take everyone to the best dinner places in each town if not served at the lodge we staying at.

We’ll have the most qualified and efficient guides to make your days go smooth and maximize your time in and out of your boat.

EXAMPLE OF ITINERARY for a Class III- IV trip 7 days/6 Nights Adventure trip.  

Day 0 : Traveling to Ecuador: Most flights arrive late night to UIO, we suggest to book a hotel near airport, most hotels will get you picked up upon arrival at the airport and we’ll meet you here the next morning to transfer you to Tena or Baeza.

Day1 : Welcome to Ecuador,  9 am breakfast & transfer to Baeza 2hrs or Tena 3 hr ride,  check in at lodge, lunch, kayak outfitting and let's hit a warm up section to let you adjust to the boat and shake the jet lag. dinner. 

Day 2 : Welcome to the jungle, let’s check  the Upper Napo ( Jatun Yacu) the Big Water signature run of  Tena CLASS III+. Full day in the water, river lunch, shuttle back to lodge, dinner. 

Day 3 : Rain Forest creeking, the Upper Miss is a all times classic of the region , we can keep it local and pull a couple laps on this really fun creeking style river. Work on your boof and technique. Back to lodge and venture around town. Parrillas BBQ dinner.

Day 4 : Lower Jondachi,  a classic for sure, starts with a 20 minute mild hike downhill to the river, while porters hike in our boats, this is a full day in the jungle, Lunch on the river and a visit to the Gran Canyon secret lagoon. Lots of people love this run as is one of the most scenics around. 

Day 5 : Rio Piatua, this is a good one to target and a most do when you are in Ecuador, certainly one of  the most beautiful rivers in the region. This is a full day trip. Lunch on river and beers @take out ,  back to Tena. Dinner. 

Day 6 : Depending on water levels, we’ll probably head back towards  Baeza and paddle the Quijos Valley and let you enjoy the classic rapids of the Cosanga and Quijos easier sections. 

Day 7:  Grand Final on the Quijos, Chaco or BonBon Canyon are all times classic sections and a great way to finish your trip. 

If time allows it visit to the Papallacta hot springs on the way out to UIO airport transfer.

Itinerary may change due to weather and high water events, we promise do our best to facilitate the best and most appropriate sections of river for the whole group, safety is our priority.

DirtBag Rally : $1800, less luxury but the same fun with your friends, worrieless traveling in group, flawless logistics, (no dinners included allows you explore town, Shared rooms get you closer with your friends.)

EXTRA DAYS: No problem, you can extend your trip as long as you want for $280/day ( contact us for quote for extra days with several paddlers) for a all inclusive service. We can customize your extended days.

Progresion Paddling: Check the schedule for skill developing Clinics Class II-III , III-IV, IV-V.

Forward stroke workshops, big water, creeking, boof stroke, racing, boat control, roll troubleshooting, water reading, rescues and self rescue. You tell us what you want and we’ll do our best to accommodate your requests.
