  • FLOAT BAGS is a MOST when you renting kayaks. Highly recommended to bring them with you unless you are such a bad ass you don’t need them.

  • 10$ a day per piece to rent equipment SKIRT/ PFD/ DRYTOP/ HELMET/ FLOAT BAGS .

  • Ask for a combo deal if you are planning to rent everything. ( full combo Kayak, paddle, skirt, pfd, helmet ) $70 a day *shoes not included ( You can buy ECUriver shoes for $20) .

  • PADDLING CLASS V, consider bringing your own kayak. Low water can be really boat abusive and if you getting after it it may brake your kayak, please be safe and think about the boats are not meant to be abused, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime.

RENTAL CRITERIA:

WATER BOOFS ALL DAY , ROCK BOOFS NOT SO MUCH Por favor. Thank you for understanding boats are hard to get down here and we can use your help to take care of them things. If in Doubt, don’t boof it! go for the clean line or fade the Boof so you can see the landing.

1-DON'T DRAG THE EQUIPMENT, BEING MINDFUL WITH RENTED EQUIPMENT IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
2-YOU ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR RENTAL SINCE YOU PICK IT UP TIL IS BACK INSIDE THE SHOP. CAREFUL INSPECTION IS REQUIRED WHEN YOU FIRST TAKE A KAYAK OUT AND ALSO BEFORE RETURNING IT.

DRAIN PLUG REPLACEMENTS $20 .

3- BRING BACK AND KEEP EQUIPMENT CLEAN < we reserve the right to charge cleaning fee $20 if boat is dirty on return >
4- RENTER WILL COVER COST OF REPAIR, DEVALUATION OR REPLACEMENT FOR ANY DAMAGE or MISSING PARTS. Please let us know if your kayak needs work, gravel road shuttles loosen them up quickly, please check screws every few days.
5-BROKEN KAYAK POLICY : Swimming out your kayak can be bad for boats. There is a devaluation fee to cover when you crack one of our kayaks. We work on being as fair as possible with you. Each boat will have a tag price when leaving the shop and devaluation will be determined on the current market and size of crack. You can always choose to replace the kayak ( equal or similar) or pay for the damage. Reopening of repairs are expected and not a big concern, $20 for repairs on already existing patches may be required , need to monitor the patches if you take big hits.

A very large crack beyond repair; you can expect to buy the kayak or if you choose to replace the kayak maybe easier.

Try to rent ZET kayaks, as they are a lot more resilient than other brands, Daggers are really good too. Unless you are a light and clean line rider then you have nothing to worry about.

*Decide WISELY where you going with rented kayaks. Deeper water canyons are high quality at lower flows and chances are way less to brake a boat down there. Cracks, Pitons, Swims, transportation damage and theft can happen and you are responsible for your rental while you have it. The continuous and technical character of the rivers is better on regular flows but Ecuador has lots of rocks to go around specially at lower flows, is totally up to the renter to decide where they choosing to boat and the lines they take.

URCUSIQUI put IN and PAPALLACTA creek are FORBIDDEN on RENTED kayaks. Low flow will brake a kayak and is better to avoid boat abusive runs.

Upper Jondachi low flow and Papallacta brake a lot of boats, we suggest to avoid low flows and class V sections with rented kayaks. Unless you are confident on your skills or have read and understand your position renting a kayak.

DO NOT PUT IN ON THE URCUSIKI creek for the upper JONDACHI on a rented boat, ultimately you are responsible for your rental and if broken you’ll have to pay for it.
